Market Overton Bowls Club
Welcome to Market Overton Bowls Club 2018.
What a great afternoon for the Presidents and Captains Day opening Game 2018. A little cooler than it had been the day before but sun, bit of cloud to begin with. Lots of fun on five rinks. How some struggled to reach is typical of this first match. By the end however nearly everyone had found 'it'! Tea and cake supplied by the various ladies of the club was on offer at the end of the game as well as a welcome drink from the bar.
This years President Mal Croson has been in this position before and is also Greenkeeper. Always ready to turn his hand at anything to promote and help the club he is a valued member. Mike Parkes is Club Captain this year and is next years President.
Syd Forbes retired at the end of 2017 after five times being President and is also Bar Manager. Another stalwart of the Club.
So the season has begun. A full complement of Friendly Matches, Stamford League, Greenwood Cup, Melton Triples League, are all on the Fixture Card.
COME AND MEET US - you will be sure of a warm welcome whether as a bowling member or a social member who uses the bar facilities for recreation only.
